Creation Science Rebuttals: Institute for Creation Research: Impact #316: Joggins Fossil Cliffs
Article by Greg Neyman on his Old Earth Ministries site.
Book by Sir John William Dawson. Link should take you to chapter XII on page 179, which describes and explains the Joggins Fossils Cliffs and its tree fossils. This was published in 1878, showing that geologists have known about and studied the Joggins fossil trees for a long time and have always known that some parts must have been formed fairly rapidly. It is because of uniformitarianism that it is known they formed more quickly and it is a common creationist misunderstanding that geologists claim or assume that all rocks must take millions or billions of years to form.
