Creationists have objected to the sclera of extinct hominins being depicted as white in reconstructions, saying that it's done to make the species appear more human and that it is fraudulent to depict them this way when we have no evidence.
Some chimpanzees and gorillas have white sclera. It is possible that extinct hominins had white sclera, particularly when they also had other human-like features.
